Caroline Kobusingye is a professional Academic Librarian with nineteen years of experience in modern library systems and practices in research and higher learning institutions. She holds a bachelor’s and a master’s Degree in Information Science from the East African School of Library and Information Science, Makerere University. She is currently pursuing PhD in Information Science. Carol has served as the National eResources Coordinator for the Consortium of Uganda University Libraries (CUUL) from 2012 to date. As a National eResources Coordinator, she actively advises and provides strategic support to the CUUL eResources Functional Committee when selecting consortium eResources subscriptions and negotiating for favourable licenses and subscription deals with the e-resources publishers/vendors. From this engagement, Carol has accumulated vast hands-on experience in selecting databases that meet the research needs of member institutions. In addition, she troubleshoots and markets eResources to ensure seamless access, monitoring and evaluating eResources use, among others. Besides, she is serving as Reseach4Life (R4L) Country Connector. In addition, she has conducted various library information literacy workshops and sensitised librarians, students, faculty, and researchers at Makerere University, CUUL member institutions and provided similar support in neighbouring countries, including South Sudan and Kenya. Outside academics, she is spontaneous and loves to swim, walk and hike.
