Biography

Alison Annet Kinengyere is an Associate Library Professor and researcher with specialized expertise in Library and Information Science. She holds both a PhD and a Master’s degree in Information Science from Makerere University. Currently, she serves as the Head of the Sir Albert Cook Medical Library at the College of Health Sciences, one of the nine college libraries under Makerere University Library. As a medical librarian, her interests lie broadly in health information management. She supports medical students, faculty, and staff in locating and utilizing health information to enhance learning, teaching, and scholarly work. She also has expertise in evidence synthesis aimed at informing health policy and practice. She brings in-depth knowledge of literature searching and information management for systematic reviews and other evidence synthesis methodologies across disciplines. This support is through research and capacity-building initiatives. She has published in several peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at numerous forums in the field of information science. She won the prestigious Cunningham Memorial International Fellowship grant in 2009, and the Vice Chancellor’s Research Excellence Award at Makerere University in 2024.
