I am SSENYONJO LAWRENCE, a LIBRARY ASSISTANT working at the College of Education and External Studies (CEES) Library. I joined Makerere University Library in August 1998 and started working in Book Bank as a library Assistant. Since then, I have worked at the East African School of Librarianship, College of Veterinary Medicine, IDA Section, Law Section, Photocopying Section, Africana Section, COVAB and lastly at CEES library where I am currently working. My duties include teaching students how to get call numbers from the OPAC; issuing out books; shelving books; record all the incoming library materials; stock taking of information materials; recording statistics of library users; spile labeling; giving submission right to students and helping them with uploading dissertations; participating in User education for freshers; and opening the library early and then closing at 9pm. In 2000, I enrolled for a certificate in Library and Information Science at the East African School of Library & Information Science (EASLIS). In 2017, I was elected as Chairman MULWA where I worked tirelessly and all members were very happy with get together parties.
