About College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology Library

The library is made up of two libraries, namely; Technology Library located at the New Technology Building, and MTSIFA Library located at the Margaret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Art.

Services at both libraries:

  • Registering new library users
  • Orientation of new library users
  • Providing physical, and online access to primary sources and research
  • Training students in the use of the electronic resources.
  • Issuing of books to students and lecturers
  • Receiving borrowed books from students and lecturers
  • Current Awareness Services (CAS)
  • Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI)
  • Granting submission rights to the students in the institutional repositories
  • Editing, and approving of theses and dissertations submitted in the institutional repositories
  • Sensitizing the students and lecturers about self-archiving
  • Issuing Clearance forms to final-year students
  • Liaise with the teaching staff to acquire new library collections

Collection at Technology:

  • Textbooks for the various programs at the college
  • Theses and Dissertations (Undergraduate and Postgraduate)
  • Journals (print and electronic)

Collection at MTSIFA:

  • Textbooks for the various programs at the college
  • Theses and Dissertations (Undergraduate and Postgraduate)
  • Journals (print and electronic)

Borrowing services:

  • Textbooks with multiple copies can be borrowed for a period of 2 weeks.
  • Theses and dissertations are strictly used within the library (cannot be borrowed).

ICT Facilities

There are four computers that students and researchers can use to search the library catalogue and any other academic related information.

Rules & Regulations at the Libraries

The Library space is meant to provide a conducive and enabling environment for academic activities so all users are expected to adhere to the guidelines as stated below.  

Please adhere to the Rules & Regulations:

  • Observe silence in all library areas.
  • Smoking and consumption of food and drinks are forbidden in all parts of the library.
  • Mobile phones are not allowed in the library. A fine of 5000/= is charged for use of mobile phones within the library.
